How to calculate unweighted GPA?

My school only does a weighted GPA system, and I have no idea how to convert...could anyone tell me the numerical value for each grade?

I understand that the UC's calculate differently, but not interested in UC's.

Also, where could I find a list of a school's unweighted average GPA?

A+ = A- = A = 4.0
B+ = B- = B = 3.0
etc.

no.... it is like this:
A+ 4.3
A 4.0
A- 3.7
B+ 3.3
B 3.0
B- 2.7
C+ 2.3
C 2.0
C- 1.7
D+ 1.3
D 1
D- 0.7
F 0.3
0000 hahahha

weighted, is like.... A+ = 4.3 + 1.0 = 5.3
A = 4.0 + 1.0 = 5.0

get it? just add 1 to each grade

really tashin?? i did not know that :O

all schools weight gpas differently based on APs/Honors
some schools have different standards for what an A is

in my experiences uw works just as the second poster described.

OP asked for UNweighted GPA
any A = 4.0
any B = 3.0
any C = 2.0
any D = 1.0

Weighting can vary, Mass state schools add .5 for honors and 1.0 for AP. Others are different. (I was relieved when I saw that many people were adding 1.0 for honors. I was floored by all the kids with 4.2 GPAs on CC, until I re-did my son's with 1.0 weighting instead of .5, his GPA went from 3.9 to 4.1!)

Selective colleges generally calculate an UNweighted GPA based on core academic subjects, usingthe grades on the hs transcript.

A+ 4.3
A 4.0
A- 3.7
B+ 3.3
B 3.0
B- 2.7
C+ 2.3
C 2.0
C- 1.7
D+ 1.3
D 1
D- 0.7
F 0.3

My school in new jersey is exactly the same. For honors, its +.5 and for AP, its + 1
