I regret to inform you, you were in fact given a Z~.

NNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Not a Z tilde! That’s the worst grade possible!

Nah you could have gotten the grade schnozzberry minus.

A! Great success.

But my A in Health isn’t uploaded yet. Weird.

Schnozzberry minus!?!?!? :O

What is considered a good first semester gpa?

Health grade still isn’t uploaded. Fail.

Also, doryphorus, I’ve been wondering that too.

That question is solely dependent upon you. I mean, at least shoot for a 3.0, that’s a no-brainer. A 3.0 leaves lots of room for improvement, but with increasing experience, you’ll have plenty of time to raise it. Chances are, unless you are premed or pre-pharm, one bad or mediocre semester will not ruin you; even if you are either of those, it may not if your GPA in the end is solid. Depends on the student and rather only Harvard, Princeton, and Johns Hopkins Med school are acceptable (seems like lots of Emory students are like that. Makes me wonder exactly why they want to be a doctor) . Don’t be like the typical Emory student and merely focus on perfect grades though. I’ve seen so many people cheat just to avoid an A- or B+, and then they don’t learn anything either. It’s sad. Choose classes and profs. that you know you’ll learn from, and the grade should come if your course load is manageable (unlike mines this past semester)

I’m a sophomore that overdid it trying to raise my GPA quickly and took too many courses (w/most being difficult), and thus really screwed up this semester, so my GPA somewhat plummeted, but I still have at least a 3.0 because I got about a 3.5 in my freshmen year. Having a buffer GPA (a solid GPA) from freshmen year is nice, because if you fall, you still have a GPA that you can work with (ability to raise it close to its former level if you do well) in terms of getting into prof. or grad. school. Now I just need to recover by choosing the course loads more carefully for now on, and just take it slow. I suppose, I’m used to making mistakes unlike a lot of people here. It somewhat breeds in me a spirit of perseverance and the ability to improve and learn from things.

Oh well, just a word of wisdom, and personal testimony from a former freshman and current sophomore that had the struggle of his life.

And if you are worried about your first semester, hopefully you got the experience, or learn from your mistakes. If you are like me, you’ll do a bit better second semester. Or if you already did pretty well, it’ll feel less stressful to put forth the same performance. I love second semester

As for that health grade, I’m in the same boat with my Arab-Israeli Conflict grade. I think I saw something on the Emory College website that says that they have until Jan. 6. so that’s quite a while. Keep in mind how large how the health sections are. My Arab-Israeli Conflict class is similar. There were well over 150 people in the class.

Thanks for the response Bernie.

Does anyone know what to do when you know they gave you the wrong grade. I got a 95% in PE 101, and they gave me an F!! That brings my GPA from 3.925 to 3.694. I don’t think I should just ignore it.

Don’t worry about it. My friend Jessica got an F originally as well.

Just e-mail your TA.
