I am a rising freshman girl and I have community bathrooms. I would like to get tips on how to keep the community toilets and showers clean? Especially the toilets! Do i need to get seat covers and use lysol wipes as well? I need help! Thanks so much!

Community bathrooms get cleaned by your dorm’s cleaning staff… At least they do at my school.

Generally if you have community bathrooms, the dorm staff will clean the bathroom. My school has them cleaned daily, but that may vary with each school.

Lol? Covers and wipes? Imo college bathrooms are cleaner than most stores and such.

Lol… Just don’t dump all of your trash in the trash cans in there, that’s the only part that gets “dirty” ahah, the trash cans running over if people use them as dumpsters. Staff comes to clean communal bathrooms, so don’t worry about it, communal bathrooms are actually pretty nice if they’re close to your dorm room.

Ours were cleaned by the staff too. I wouldn’t worry about it. They were cleaned daily I think.

Just don’t leave a turd in the toilet for the next occupant, and there shouldn’t be any problems.

The staff cleans the bathrooms so don’t worry about it. Just get in the shower, do what you need to do, and get out. And make sure to wear shower shoes (they actually don’t feel as weird as you would think).

Whenever I’m at a public bathroom, I always use toilet paper to line the seat. I’m a male and mens’ bathrooms are disgusting. Womens’ bathrooms are a lot cleaner, but I would still line the seat.

You can’t do much with public showers. Just use cheap-o-depot flip flops to keep your feet off of the floor.

The staff cleans bathrooms at my school too. And yeah, flush when you’re done. Also try not to puke all over the toilet, pee all over the seat/toilet paper (this is more for guys), etc.

goodness youll be fine

Yeah, the staff usually cleans the bathroom… ours cleaned once every day on the weekdays.
With the showers, however, it’s considered polite to clean your hair from the drains before you leave. Otherwise it grows into a disgusting blob that no one will want to touch…
It’s also nice if you at least try to try yourself off or towel dry your hair before stepping out… otherwise puddles build up and people will have to walk through a lot of water if they want to shower which isn’t all that appealing.
