How to deal with space limits on CMC app?

I'm just wondering if anyone else has been struggling with this- my 'question I wish I had the answer too' seems pretty vague and unclear since I had to try really hard to phrase it in 30 characters or less, and my 'why CMC' essay only includes one reason (which also means it's not completely unique to the school :()since the essay has to be under 400 characters. Has anyone else been having a lot of trouble fitting everything in to the space limits, and does anyone have any advice?

I have not seen the CMC supplement, but I gather it is asking if there is a question you wish you had the answer too. I immediately thought of the following:

1) Is there an afterlife and what is it like? (You’re probably too young to be thinking about this)

2) Will the stock market and/or interest rates be up or down one year from today? I also wouldn’t mind knowing by how much.

3) Is there a cure for cancer and what is it?

4) Will children in the US have the same or better opportunities in their lifetime than their parents were afforded?

It seems to me there is an infinite number of ways of responding to this question.

^obviously there are but i was talking about the space limit; none of those questions would fit into the box we’re given. i’m not worried about answering these questions, just how to do it in the space provided.

I see what you’re saying - 30 characters is not a lot of space. I guess you could truncate some of my responses, for example: Is there an afterlife? They don’t seem to want you to elaborate on your answer.

yeah, that’s basically what i did- it’s super simplified and i feel weird not elaborating, but i guess there’s no other option…

Are you sure about the 30 characters restriction? What happens when you go over?

it’s not uploaded or anything, it’s just a text box that won’t register anything you write over 30 characters :(

Like Shakespeare said, “Brevity is the soul of wit”.
