This is in the wrong section, but I can't think of a good section to put it into. Anyway, I am going to be a sophomore in high school in a math and science environment. In fact, it's called the Illinois Math and Science Academy. On wednesdays, called inquiry days, juniors and seniors go off to do research at nearby universities, fermilab, argonne, etc. Using this opportunity, how can I do well at intel isef and sts? I have stellar grades and I am a great test-taker (good scores on act and sat), plus I got gold at the state science fair in biochemistry. I just don't have any good, novel ideas. I need some way of generating good ideas for what I should research. I like pretty much every subject in math and science, if that helps.

from my experiences (1st place isef category, siemens regional finalist), your presentation is EXTREMELY important (for isef, that is). basically, even if you have a bad project, a good presentation may be able to compensate.
getting ideas for researching is terribly difficult if you don’t have someone else do it for you. intelliprep1.com can help. it seems that they only help with your presentation, abstract, and paper after your research is done, but they also help with your project itself. basically its a private service where past winners of isef and sts, etc, try to help you win competitions by teaching you what they know - like presentation skills, abstract wording, AND project ideas/development. i used it and it helped a ton really expensive, but worth it if you can afford it.
good luck
thank you so much @jjj708
