How to find out about Honors College and Merit Aid at Udel

My son was accepted into Engineering last Friday, Feb 8th. We are OOS and are waiting to hear about Merit Aid and Honors College. How/When did students find out about this? Thank you.

You’ll get another letter in the mail in a few weeks with that info. Good luck!

@MomMartha - my S19 was admitted to engineering in late November. His honors admission was in his original admissions letter. Notice of merit came a couple weeks after - no letter at first just a “Financial Award” link that listed his merit and described the COA. The merit was higher than the NPC predicated - I believe it predicated $15,000/year and he received $17,000/year.

I would run NPC to get an idea of numbers. Good luck to your son!

I just saw that my sons admissions letter stated that his Honors application is still being reviewed and we would be notified by end of March. I did the NPC and it calculated 15K. Fingers crossed he gets something.

@MomMartha Good luck!!!

@mountainmomof3 - Where did you find the link showing the financial aid for Delaware?

@MomMartha - on the “My Blue Hen” page. In the middle of the page it will say

“Financial aid information available:” and below is a link that says:

“View your Financial Aid Award Notice.”

The merit is listed in the link.

@mountainmomof3 - Is this the same page that shows application status? No financial aid award on my son’s page.

@MomMartha - yes it is. S19 was admitted on 11/21 but merit did not show up in portal till 12/12. Regardless of merit, you will see a financial award page that lays out all costs, etc. I would be more concerned if you had the link but there was no merit award listed within. You could always call admissions to double check they have everything they need on your end for merit/financial aid decisions but likely it is just a matter of a little more waiting. Hope you hear something soon!
