How to get a good PAID internship with a low GPA?

Based on all my stats:

I am at a State University
Above 2.5GPA.
Unpaid internship (iphone app development; objective c)
A java programming club (android app development; java)
A tutor.
Some volunteer activities.

Based on all this, what would you recommend to people who have low GPAs?

Major: Computer Engineering

I was in a similar situation as you. I had a low GPA but I was a Computer Science major.

Here’s how I did it: <a href=“Ivy League =?= Ivy League Career Potential/Experience? - Parents Forum - College Confidential Forums”>Ivy League =?= Ivy League Career Potential/Experience? - Parents Forum - College Confidential Forums;

I did have a part time job while I was going to school as a software engineer for a very small defense contractor. I was able to get that gig while going to school because I had a security clearance due to my duty position in the Army National Guard.

Don’t mention GPA at all. Just list your skills, any completed projects, and past experience. I’ve found that even places who have a minimum GPA regularly ignore it or don’t enforce it. Plenty of internships where there aren’t GPA requirements also.
