<p>I am a high school student and I really want to do research next summer under a professor (not this summer because i know it's already too late). But how do I get that kind of opportunity? I've heard you email a professor who is doing research you're interested in, but how do you know what professors there are and what they're doing? Is there like some list somewhere or some website? If there is please post link!</p>
<p>find those professors on the websites of colleges…not difficult to find, then send a ton of emails. maybe 10% of them will reply</p>
<p>There are some summer programs providing such opportunities, but they are highly selective. such as RSI in MIT.</p>
