How to get an internship in a small town

I live in a small town on Cape Cod (near Boston) and It's hard enough to find a job, let alone an internship. What are some ways one can look for internships in a small town? My major is B.A. with an accounting concentration.

Thanks!

I’m having the same exact problem. I am working on a degree in finance and opportunities are limited. I’ve decided to just look for a part time job in a bank or anything relating to finance to get some experience.

My family and friends have been a big help in helping me locate places and get in touch with the right people.

Good luck!

Can you commute into Boston? A lot of people end up commuting to a larger, nearby city or rent an apartment or room somewhere for the summer if they can’t commute.

I said near Boston, but it’s about 45-50 minutes away from Boston, and I have another job, so commuting to Boston is probably not an option.

I would still commute to Boston. I commuted 1 hour one way just to get to my high school last year, and I know people who commuted 3 hours one way (it was a magnet school). 40-50 minutes is nothing. Then again, it could be me (I live in DC so a normal commute is like 1 hour anyway). I’d seriously consider Boston. Do you have public transit options as well? (Train/Bus).
