Hey Everyone!
Ive applied to a lot of prestigious schools (Lower Ivys, top privates, etc.) and I havent received interviews from my top choices, like Columbia and Cornell. I know that they are supposed to contact you and that interviews are "optional" and "wont hurt your application" but I shine best during interviews. I am going to need an interview to try and gain admittance into these top schools because my scores are only average for these top schools. Is there anyway to increase my chances of getting an interview even though I submitted my applications already?

Unless those colleges require you to request an interview, there is really nothing you can do. Just hope you are in an area that has alumni to interview you. lol

Yeah I applied to Cornell and Columbia too and havent heard anything from them! I know that for Arts and Science at Cornell, they dont need interviews. I called Columbia and they were kinda rude about it. They were just like " well its not required anyway"

eurasian and ao1313: If you research how interviews are offered, you’ll see it’s based on availability of volunteer interviewers. It’s pure chance.
