So, I'm going to be a sophomore in high-school this coming September and I'd like to go Princeton. I'm not quite sure for what, I'm thinking psychology right now. I usually get all A's but my lowest final grade this year was a 91, it was only 1 point off from an A. (that really bothered me)
The class levels I took this past year were: Honors English I, Advanced World History, Advanced Geophysical Science, Advanced Algebra II
The class levels I'm taking next year are: Honors English II, Honors US History I, Honors Bio, Advanced Geometry
I have no clue what my GPA is, but seeing as honors classes are weighted, I feel like it'd be pretty high because of all A's not including weights.
My extracurricular is: French Club, some Art Club, and, so far, two years of Tennis with my school.
So, what do I have to do to get into Princeton, or at least be considered? How much more do I need for extracurricular, what should I do for classes Junior year, etc. etc.

Do you whatever you want. Don’t let colleges dictate your life.

:)

An A- or even a B freshman year won’t kill you, you’re fine so far, grade-wise. Take AP’s if your school has them and if you can handle them. If your school doesn’t have them you can still self-study them and take the test (this looks especially good since you’re going beyond what your school offers). Whatever extracurriculars you’re interested in, put your heart and soul into them. Become Pres or VP of French and Art club. Get Varsity in Tennis. If there is any club where you don’t feel like you’re one of the leadrs in your grade, either work to become that leader, or find a different activity (you’re still early on in high school, so you can afford to switch it up a little if necessary).

Finally, don’t fall in love with Princeton too much. College admissions to Ivies and similar universities is a crapshoot.

Exactly! With your grades you have nothing to worry about – you will get into a good college. So just live your own life.

You get into Princeton by not trying to get into Princeton. Enjoy your life and do what you like! Don’t try to resemble a Princeton applicant, that will probably even get you rejected. Do something unique, do something fun, and most importantly, don’t do it for college!

There is nothing anybody can tell you on here that will even be remotely accurate to what it takes to get into Princeton, simply because nobody really knows what Princeton is looking for in a given admissions cycle. The only piece of advice - which is universal to all colleges - is to pursue your passions. If you pursue your passions, that will lead you to where you belong.

Also, Princeton recently built a new neuroscience/psychology complex so it’s really cool and it would be really cool to major in that in the coming years.
