How to get into Yale, Harvard, and Stanford Law Schools

i thought asian-americans were over-represented only in the sciences, not in law school.

I thought being Hispanic in general was URM at most schools (Vandy, I read, has 2-4% each year). I’m Cuban. Isn’t that underrepresented, too?

@texan, nope

Actually, asians still (IMO) get a slight bump with big firm hiring, as they are underrepresented there. Many of the diversity fellowship recipients at big firms, that I know, are asian.

Perhaps this is off topic, but what would an SAT/ACT score be expected to convert to on the LSAT? And how much would studying for the LSAT help?

There’s a modest but noticeable correlation. Generally, you can divide the M+V by 20 and add 100 to see a post-LSAT-studying estimate. But that’s a VERY rough formula.

Studying usually helps by about 10-15 points – you’d expect that a “cold” score would be about 10 points below the estimate above.

Alright cool. Because I was worrying that the test was very self-selecting so that curve was highly skewed. From the sounds of it the curve is only mildly skewed.

Asian americans are actually underrepresented.

A poll from a very reliable source shows that there are three asians out of a population of 100, so they have a low population density. I would post a link but I don’t want to get an infraction!!

I’ve always enjoyed (and found helpful) the Q & A with law school admission officials on USNWR.

What is the GPA that you need to get into Harvard or Stanford??

i heard that you need to a 4.0 GPA and need to join any type of activity you can.True or not true??

Do you have any advise about the kind of majors that you should focus on in undergard if you eventually want to go to a top law school? Alos, are there any classes that will help you in getting into a law school?

Above a 3.8 is a safe bet.

Major usually don’t matter that much, nor do specific classes. Just work on that GPA and LSAT and you should be good to go (in general, there are obviously more factors that play into admittance).
