Is it more important to put the living learning community as a preference? Or gender or double/triple preferences?
You can’t pick a specific hall. Just the general area(Segundo/Tercero/Cuarto).
I noticed that if you click on each specific residence hall, it does specify the Living/Learning communities that will be in these buildings for 2016-2017. If you want a specific hall, then check which LLC’s will be available. For instance, if you click Alder Hall in the Segundo Area, the Asian American Pacific themed LLC will be housed there, according to the website. There is always a possibility that the LLC’s will change based on # of interested students and the capacity of the dorms.
As far as I’m aware, they can accommodate pretty much any occupancy request in any area. You may have more trouble finding a single or quad, say, but doubles and triples should be in all areas.
I wouldn’t be surprised if each area also has at least one floor that’s single-sex, if that’s what you’re looking for. But if that’s not an option for a given area, you shouldn’t be able to select it in the first place if you already selected that area.
LLCs definitely restrict your potential living area the most, but as @Gumbymom mentioned they could get moved around depending on demand.
