how to get scholarships at UCR

hi guys,

i am wondering how to get scholarships from or at UCR. like who or where do i go to if i want to apply/obtain scholarships. i have met so many people that say they never payed any money at their universities bc they were given scholarships blah blah blah, and it makes me feel as though UCR is the only university who does not help its students with scholarships and stuff. for me it is more like loans loans and loans, and my parents are really poor!! so what's up what should i do??

If your “poor” doesn’t that mean you get more fafsa money?

My parents contribution is 0 and I get about 21g in grants??

Yes i do get about the same as you do but i still have to take out $5,000+ in loans every year! ;(

Dimas, he’s probably referring to the other 11k+/year that the grants DON’T cover.

UCR does offer merit and need-based scholarships. A few are automatically calculated based on your expected need and academic record when you first enroll, but UCR does have a scholarship page here: [UC Riverside Foundation Scholarships, Fellowships & Awards: Home](http://scholarships.ucr.edu/) In my experience, it’s not updated very often. This page has more information if you scroll toward the bottom: Scholarships
