I can't find bus going from NYC to middletown CT anywhere but Peterpan bus supposed to go there???
Please tell me how to get to wes.

the only way to find the bus schedule from NYC to Middletown is to go to Port Authority in person because neither the Peter Pan nor Trailways websites are trustworthy, IMO. If you can at all afford the extra expense, I'd catch the train to Meriden (CT) and have a car service meet you.

Thing is, I went to both ticket booth and info but no one know about it nor show up in their system, yet wes' site and other CT site tells there are Peterpan bus like, 3 times a day. Are there or there isn't any??? Have anyone taken it?
Is this mean, if you don't have a car/drive don't bother coming???

you probably have more up-to-date info than the Wes website. Direct bus service from NYC has been in decline for many years. Amtrak is faster and more comfortable even though the cab from the Meriden station can be a pain in the neck if you don't have the cash for it. It should be between $20 and $25 one-way.

Thanks alot.
Since we are forever broke, we'll try local public bus from Meriden at least to get there. Way back, shell out extra 25 bucks, if we have to. Ouch.

johnwesley - not to hijack this thread, but since you have a wealth of knowledge about Wes and Middletown, what are the best transportation options to Boston and New York City? I have a brother living in Boston and my family lives outside of NYC, and since I won't have a car at school freshman year, I'd like to know the safest (and, if possible, cheapest) ways of getting to Boston and New York from Wes. I can't seem to find much updated info on the Wes site.

Bear and Dogs - also check out Metro-North, it might be a little cheaper.

gg0624 - getting to Meriden is the only hard part about travel outside of Middletown. It's only three miles away but it's all highway, so there's no possibility of biking or hiking it. The good part is that once there, the entire northeast corridor of the United States is available without changing trains, in most cases. Some people prefer New Haven as a jumping off point for NYC, but that's about thirty miles away.

There's a ride board in the student center, and, as a last resort, there are car services to ferry you back and forth. There have been student-run jitney services in the past, but, a current student will have to verify
whether they still exist.

Thanks so much!

one more question.
Can you walk from middletown to campus, how far, how long?

Oh i got it
campus is right in the town, is it?

absolutely. it's just up the hill. a small hill. :)

Thank you.
