How to go about it?

Hey guys,

Well I was expecting good results on my SAT but my results were not upto the mark at all.
I have already registered for June SAT and since only 7 days are left for 1st June SAT what do you guys suggest? How should I go about it?

My current score is somewhere near the 75th percentile and thats not what I am looking at.
I want to increase my score by atleast 500-600 points.

Please note that June 1st SAT will be my last attempt. So what do you guys suggest?

Were the scores you received consistant with how you were doing on practice tests? If they were, then I’m not sure its possible to make that much improvement in so little time. If you have usually scored a lot higher on practice tests than you did on the actual SAT though, you might have a shot. In that case I would try to figure out why you scored lower in the actual test taking environment. Maybe you can read up on stress reducing strategies or something like that.

I am scoring much higher in my practise tests. It is very disappointing to see your score drop by 400 points when comparing them with my pratise tests.
My reading is very week… I cant get to answer the passage based questions. Any suggestion on how to score on CR section.

Thanks for the reply.

Which prep book did you use for the practice test? Did you do timed full test for practice? Perhaps you are nervous for the real test due to the environment. It is typical to score lower in the real test particularly for the first attempt but usually around 80 points. 400 is a big difference. Nevertheless, my D also got 250 lower that practice at her first test. I am sure you can do much better in your retake. You may want to try more practice tests from a different source.

I am doing practise tests from the blue book and from the priiceton review 11 practise tests.

Which other source do you recommend apart from these, since I am only left with 7 days.
Also my reading section is very weak. Can you give any tips on how to improve my CR.

Once again thank you for the reply.

I gave the SAT on May 4 too, and I was also expecting good results(at least relatively good, anyways), so I was SHOCKED when I saw my 1970! I was hoping for AT LEAST 2000+. How much did you get exactly? I am going to give the test again on October, meanwhile I am going to get the Question-Answer service. Subject tests on 1st June. So disheartened! I had actually thought I did well in CR, and the biggest shocker was maths.

Also, I cannot wait to see my full score report. Hope to get some answers there. . .
