What must I do? Any insight will be much appreciated.

um…get good grades then apply?

You must be more specific.

From my experience, universities look at your high school grades and your college grades. If you had good high school grades and community college grades, you should be fine. If you’re in my situation with a mediocre high school but good community college grades, then you’ll also be fine depending on the university. Your community college grades are more valueable than your high school grades, or at least in my case. If you have horrible high school grades, you need to do your absolute best in community college otherwise they will view you as a liability.

Pick the university or universities you would to attend and send in your paper work, including transcripts and everything. Visit that college’s site to get the desired info.

If your state has a transfer agreement with a particular university, usually that university will send a representative to the CC to talk with prospective transfers. Your career & advising center will know the dates of the visit(s).

Meet with the rep, ask them what they require (ie test scores, grades, essays, ECs, professor recommendations, etc.).

Ask them if they have any required courses for transfers. Some universities require certain CC courses in order to meet the transfer agreements.

Ask them how many/which credits will transfer. This is very important.

If the university does not send a representative to CC, call the admissions office & speak with someone there. Don’t just look at the website - CALL. It shows initiative & your desire to attend.
