I've transferred to a magnet school this year. At my ex inner city school, I stood out by being smart. Yet at this school most of the people are smart, and they kind of getting my relaxed nature, but I'm gradually changing it. As far as teacher's matter, I'm not sure if I stand out. I'm a decent student, almost straight A (with one or two Bs each cycle), but I feel my thinking is not as sharp as those magnet kids. How should I stand out in teachers' eyes?

Be yourself, and don’t strain to impress. Show how intellectually curious you are. Participate. Do your best. Don’t be afraid to talk with them after class or something if you need help. Stuff like that.

I’m not from a magnet school, so I don’t really understand the atmosphere you’re describing. This is just what I’ve done at my school, and what I imagine teachers look for at other schools, as well.
