I’ve been doing practice tests for some time now and I’ve been scoring only and always in the 500s. My math score is fine as I am usually in the 700s. The CR is really stressing me out. I’d like to hear advice and suggestions from people who have written and done well, or people who just know how to tackle CR. I’m planning on taking the sat in October 2017 btw. I’ve read the critical reader by Erica Meltzer but still no improvement. That’s why I want the advice of the antecedents
@41ADAN I think he’s the best to handle this.
He answered this on my thread but maybe he can post it again. Thanks in advance.
Quoting myself "Now, as for a high reading & writing SAT score, there’s a very simple way to get there: read a few books. Really, that’s all, pick up a couple of fantasy books or whatever genre you like the most and read them, then to get used to the kind of questions in SAT just use Khan Academy for a couple of months before the test.
You may also want to try writing during your free time, I got a lot of progress with English when I started writing (I wrote fictional news articles for a roleplay group in Elite Dangerous, I also wrote the backstory of the group and several characters)."
In addition, considering the limited ammount of time before the october SAT, I’d recommend going over to Khan Academy and doing as many full tests as possible -maybe just the CR part if you feel confident about your math score- and then just reading one or two novels. Any other full tests you can take are good, try 2 or 3 per week. As for books I’d suggest reading, just pick something you’re confident you’ll be able to chug down in 1 or 2 days without getting bored, pm me if you want some recommendations.
