How to improve reading and english section?

I'm an exchanged student who is not using english as first language.

I'm aware how much people in this website hate foreigners esp Asians who study only for score, not for 'showing achievement', but all I wanna know is just small tips for the test.

I got 19 on English, 32 on Math, 16 on Reading, 28 on Science, 6 on writing. it was my first time to take an official test in America, and I did not study for the test.

What I realized after the test was the reading section is so horribly hard and the time is extremely limited. Also I thought I did well on the Englsih section but apperently not.

So, are there any tips for improving reading and english? It's gonna help me a lot..

For Reading: Go to your local library and borrow a book about Speed Reading. Study it for 2-3hours a day for about a month while reading many novels (from fiction to non-fiction). Your Comprehension and Reading Speed should double or triple atleast by then.

For English: Get the most recent Princeton Review ACT prep book (called “cracking the ACT”) and go through it’s english section.

And finally take tons of practice exams. And if you run out take the ones you’ve taken already for further comprehension and to learn from your mistakes.

If you really do all this you should be able to increase both scores by around 8points.
I was able to raise English from a 25 to a 33, and Reading from 24 to a 34 with this method.
