the title says it all. I am applying to UConn with the day of pride of scholarship. I just wanted to know how i can increase y chances of getting admitted and getting the scholarship. I would like to hear from people who already got the scholarship and what did to get it or just from people in general.
Are you a senior applying now? According to the website, this scholarship is for “seniors from disadvantaged backgrounds who have proven academic ability as demonstrated through high school grades, test scores, class rank, and letters of recommendation. In addition to a commitment to diversity and multiculturalism, demonstrated leadership, and contributions to their community, students should have documented financial need.” You also have to be nominated by your high school. Either you already have those characteristics or you don’t. It’s too late to try to cook them up. There is no separate application, so there is really nothing special to do at this point other than making sure your letters of recommendation come from teachers who feel very positively about you and will get them submitted on time. Good luck.
