I got admitted to Ut-Austin as an undeclared major student in college of Liberal arts. Currently, I am considering about Accounting major. As is known to all, Austin has the best accounting departement. So is possible to declare an Accounting major? How hard it would be? Really in need of help
@rivertddance It’s always possible the only question is can you make the GPA to get in. McCombs like many other schools at UT will primarily look at your GPA, if you can maintain a 4.0 you should be fine.
Thanks a lot. @mccombs17orbust
My son internally transfered into McCombs, and then Accounting. First make sure you take the prerequisite courses for McCombs. These are Calc 1 & 2, Economics Micro and Macro, and get at least 24 credits in your freshman year. Also as stated above you’ll need almost all A’s. You can look it up, but the usual average gpa for internally transferring is about a 3.8. I’ve never heard aof anyone with less than a 3.6 getting in. What they do is take the students who have met the prerequisites, and then go right down the line on gpa results. Starting at 4.0 and until they fill up the transfer class, which is usually about 200. Again this number is available on the web too. Transferring from outside of UT is even harder.
Info above is great. Also u can take calc and economics classes online - many kids take 1 of the 4 required over winter break which helps spread the pain. Can xfer end of freshman or sophomore year.
The average GPA for both external and internal transfer is 3.85-3.95.
Thanks a lot. Your answer is truly exhaustive and helpful I will try my best @texansfan1
I will consider take some online courses in winter break. Thanks @Gigem86
