How to let UW know about my BC credit?

Hello,

I'm a new student at the UW. I have some credit at Bellevue College I want to transfer over. Should I just bring my transcript to the advisers during my A&O session, or is there something else I should do?

You should go to Bellevue College and ask them to send an official transcript to the UW. They will do it electronically.

Is there a way to do it online? I cannot seem to figure out how.

[Official Transcript Request, Bellevue College](http://bellevuecollege.edu/services/transcript/)

It seems as though that is for sending them through mail; I see no way to request specifically that an electronic copy is sent to UW. Moreover, what department or office of the University of Washington should it be sent to?

Please read careful everything on the website - everything there is explained well.
No need to request the transcript be sent electronically. They will do it unless you specifically request it to be sent through mail.

“Instructions for requesting transcripts online:
Access the National Student Clearinghouse web site.
Log in with your BC Student ID and PIN. (If you don’t know your Student ID, you can look it up here and learn about PIN number)
International student? Click here to request your transcript online.
Fill out the required information.
Place your order and pay online using your Master or Visa credit/debit card ($6.35 fee per transcript, plus additional $2.25 per recipient regardless of the number of transcripts sent to each recipient).
Submit the consent form electronically to the Clearinghouse.”

Can you send the official transcripts electronically?

Yes, but only to the WA state community and technical colleges and WA state public universities. Electronic transcripts can only be sent to those admissions offices, if you need the transcript sent to a specific office other than admissions please be sure to indicate that on the request form.

It actually lacks a great deal of clarity and has an incredible amount of ambiguity. I have read the quoted text at least ten times already.

Sorry, I guess we just have different experiences and that’s why you don’t understand.

I believe that right now all WA community colleges and state universities send transcripts to each other electronically (at least at my college they did it this way although I didn’t request it specifically).

Now, you can request your transcript online (no need to go to the campus). For this, follow the instructions I quoted above (they are also here: [Official Transcript Request, Bellevue College](http://bellevuecollege.edu/services/transcript/) with all links and hints). Pay the fee. And the transcript will be sent to the UW soon. Electronically. Even if not - it’s not a big deal because you have some time.

Very well, then.

I sent the transcript via mail. After multiple tries, I determined that there was no option for electronically sending the transcript. On the National Student Clearinghouse website, the one and only choice for “Delivery method” was “Mail”. …

Oh, that’s weird. But you know, the college is going to send the transcript, not the clearing house. When it receives the request they will see that this is an in-state university and they will do what is faster and cheaper for them.

Ah, I see.

Go to the front desk in the C building at Bellevue College.
