Hey. i submitted my CSS profile sometime in december to most of my schools. I've realized i made a small error and i need to change it. So how do i make changes? Help.

You’ll need to print the acknowledgement screen out, make the change on paper and highlight the criterion, initial next to the change, and put name and DOB on every single sheet. CB doesn’t have any guidelines beyond the first bit, and the next things are a compilation of what every single school seems to want at different points.

Good luck! I just sent out my own corrections yesterday.

Oh. I sent in email to one of the schools and they said they will make the change for me. Can i email them instead? or its better to print and highlight the error?

In that case, it absolutely depends on the school. What I gave you was the ‘official’ CB policy. I called into the financial aid offices of each my schools, and one or two told me not to worry about it for now and to wait until later (Rice, Case Western, UNC), one would allow me to scan and change it (Pomona), one said it wasn’t necessary because they verified info (Duke), and the others wanted print copies mailed (Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Wake Forest, WashU).

If you’re wanting to save yourself the stamps, you’re probably going to have to make those calls and ask each school what they would like.

oh okay thanks.

Great thread!

Does anyone know if you have to send in EVERY single page of the acknowledgment? The first and last pages list what other schools I sent the profile to and I don’t want the colleges I’m submitting the changes to being made aware of this info…

alexissss… I mailed/fax mine every pages, even some of them has no updates. I didn’t want to mislead them some pages were missing, so I played it safe.
Your concern is understandable, I think admission and FA/Scholarship are two different applications handled by different departments/people. In fact, I am not sure if the exposure of other colleges will have a good or bad effect at all.

Thank you, Simon! One of my colleges doesn’t need all the pages. I’ll just call the ones I need to update to be safe. ∩__∩

I think colleges already know since from the time you first submitted the profile? no? Anyway, in the end colleges understand that everyone applies to more than one school. I got nervous with it too.

I…
I didn’t even consider that, LOL.
