Hi, I’m a junior taking 4 APs this year. My schedule is:
AP Chem
AP Lang
AP Calc BC
Jazz Band
French 3
APUSH
I’m currently ranked 3rd in my class of 968, and i would like to stay in the top 1%, which means I have to get all A’s this year (since others are taking 5 APs this year and will probably get at least 1 B). However, I would like to also make some money during this year without a huge time commitment. Any suggestions?
P.S. I’ve already signed up to be a tutor (hope someone calls)
If you’re a pet person, pet sitting/dog walking is great for a small source of income. If you’ve got a good SAT/ACT score people will actually approach you to get tutored. Use your social connections to try to find something; if you have good relations with someone who knows the neighborhood well I’m sure they can hook you up with babysitting gigs.
Good luck!
I second babysitting as you can often do homework while you are doing it.
A part time job is doable if they are flexible.
Part-time jobs are great! I’m taking 5 APs this year (3 this semester) and I have a job. If your employers are flexible with scheduling, you can work as little as one shift per week during the school year. You’ll have enough time to make plenty of money and get your homework done
i am a cashier with 5 ap’s, marching band and club leadership. My manager is awesome though, you gotta find someone flexible.
I know of someone who mows grass and makes about $60 per yard, and it takes less than an hour. Since you play a musical instrument, you could also give lessons and make money that way, or play for pay somewhere perhaps with some other musicians.
