How to make the most of six empty summer weeks?

I currently have six free weeks of summer break left before I travel abroad (which I will be doing until school starts in the fall). I am currently spending my time back at home studying for the mcat (spring 2018 exam), but I want to do something else productive with my time (besides studying for the mcat or shadowing doctors). What would you guys suggest doing to be productive in a six week time period. It’s hard to find really short temporary jobs/internship opportunities or volunteering experiences that don’t require intensive training/backgrond checks before I can even get started.

Try to call around to see if you can shadow a physician or two. It’s best to split the six weeks in two and shadow two different kinds of physicians.

Find an FTC or FRC robotics team and contact one of their adults, some of these teams are active year round. Look at your city’s list of events and contact the organizing departments - find some booth that will be at a local festival and show up for the grunt jobs. Get a broom a dustpan, and a wagon and adopt a section of your city’s multiuse trails to keep it free from litter and glass.
Volunteer at an animal shelter.

Find a bike coop and volunteer there.

I’ve done all of these except the shelter, and usually end up with 5-6 hours a week of volunteer time 5-6 months out of the year…although the occasional week will be closer to 30 if I have extra time off.
Have had a lot more fun working ethnic festivals than just going to them.
