I've seen a recent influx of posts regarding jobs that pay well (usually Medicine, IB etc)

I'm sure I'm not the first to say this, but you are not going to become rich from your job. There are exceptions to this (proffesional athletes, TOP IBers etc) but few get rich that way.

If you want to become rich, you are going to have to invest or get lucky. So if you're a highschooler or even in college thinking about the big bucks (like I am) this is realistically the only way to get rich if you have no money to start with.

LMAO @ the threadstarter.

lol so either your born rich or you need to get lucky? what BS

thread starter must be a troll.

hey hotshot:

I gave you investment advice straight from the heart in your other thread, but at the risk of treating this thread too seriously -- there's already been one rather like it. a more subtle treatment of this subject can be found here:

Thank me later =P

Oh, sorry Denzera, I hadn't read your reply to my post in the other thread
You're actually quite helpful... Thanks =]
Anyway, to reply to your question in the other thread:
I've been born into a decently rich family. I've always known that we were well off but didn't realize how rich until this summer. I don't exactly know how much I will be getting from that amount of wealth but know that it is at least a million, probably more, and this is in addition to lots of land.

and TheFinanceGuy,
Apparently you didn't read my post clearly. I stated that you have to invest OR get lucky.
Please don't accuse me of being a troll if you aren't going to take the time to read.
