What are the best things you can do in high school to prepare you for Ivy League admissions? What activities look best on an application? What should you try to get involved with? Also, I'm in our school dance squad but we don't do competitions. Do activities like that still look good?

Yes, you will make a great pre-med student.

You are asking the wrong questions.
This way you’re setting yourself up to failure.

In terms of activities, do what you are passionate about. Don’t do anything just for college - it’s never worth it. For example, since you dance, to go the extra mile, teach little kids how to dance. In terms of school, study for SATs and take the most challenging classes at your school. But there is no formula - just be true to who you are and I’m sure you’ll make out fine.

Crfcaio is right, you’re taking the completely wrong approach to this whole process.

loololololololololll

Most students accepted to the Ivy League don’t “prepare” at all. They do less and enjoy.

I wasn’t trying to say I only want to join activities that look good on applications. I was just wondering if there are any that really stand out. I’m still doing dance either way, just wondering if I should also do competitions.

Don’t do things just because adcoms might like them. Do things you like, and do well in them.

Do what you like.
