So I live in California so qualifying to be a nms is difficult.
On practice tests I get about a 76 in math 71 in critical reading and 69 in writing.

Any ideas of how to raise these scores so they can go above a 223, especially on the writing part since critical reading depends on the difficulty of the vocab words.

Find a college-level English handbook. Used is OK. A Writer’s Reference by Diane Hacker is a good choice, but there are others. An old Harbrace Handbook would be OK too. Make sure it devotes a few hundred pages to grammar and style. Your writing score is already high, so a lot of this material will seem familiar. Skip what you know. Mark the stuff that seems new and come back to it a few times. Don’t look at it for hours at a time. 20 minutes at a time several times each day will work better.

Use the “Official Guide to the SAT” from the College Board. Or Kaplan PSAT, Kaplan SAT prep books. Analyze the questions you are getting wrong and the grammatical structures they cover. Only one day left–good luck.
But in case anyone else is reading this. . .
Using test prep books is the best way to help you prepare for the test. General grammar review isn’t as valuable as practicing the types of questions found on the test.
