How to raise up ECs ?

BUMP! I need a help

Your EC’s are great! I don’t see why you want more activities. lol I think they’re enough. :-)

I would be more worried about having too many activities. You have a nice long list, but colleges don’t like long lists of activities that you joined but weren’t super involved in. They want you to have a couple activities that you have a passion for that you put most of your time and energy into. It also seems better when two or more activities correlate to your major and each other!
Good luck!

Thank you for your responses! but my goal is one of the top colleges such as Brown so I want to know if it is still enough or need more or Computer Science related activities. I just get this feeling of having weak Ecs when i see other applicant’s chance. They have a really impressive ECs such as being a national team, winning a national lvl competiton or doing own business.

Is my ec still enough for top colleges?

BUMP!! I really need to know!!

PLease Everyone!!! HELP!

Quality over quantity…You don’t need 20 ECs or something crazy and unique to get into a top school. Put a lot of hours into your ECs (especially community service) and begin to take on leadership roles in the ECs you are involved in.

I know it is quality over quantity, but my ECs look weak compare to other competitive applicants for top colleges… I am involved into my current after school cubs. So… Is my EC good for top colleges?

The issues I see are that you have almost no leadership and possibly minimal community service hours (you did not say how many you have). That combined with the quantity over quality (you just have too many for you to be putting a lot of time into each one) leads me to say no. Quit an EC or two, get some leadership positions ASAP and accumulate community service hours. You also want to start gaining “accomplishments” in your ECs. Things like awards, doing well in competitions and other things that you can put on your resume to show involvement.

That being said, do what you love. Colleges will see through you doing ECs just to impress them.
