Hi,
I know that a lot of CCers successfully read magazine like New Yorker and Smithsonian to increase CR score. But how do you read these articles ? Do you look up dict all the unknown words ?

I write down the words I don't know. I try to use context clues to first come up with a meaning. I then look them up. Its usually hard to forget words. Also I use them for reading passage help. I try make sure I understand the tone, main point, etc.

I am using firefox and have the answer.com plug-in installed. Whenever I come across an unfamiliar word, I just Alt+click to summon the dictionary/encyclopedia. :d Hope that help.

Also, never underestimate the power of reading for fun. All my life I've just read books that I enjoyed, and I've become a fast enough reader to easily finish standardized tests. Rather than force yourself to read through the New York Times, go to your local library and pick up some books you've been wanting to read. Don't think about it, just read.

I think reading helped my writing more than my cr. AP english language helped my cr, honestly. If you can tackle those questions, SAT is a walk in the park.

Read,read,read!

How long did you read and success ? :D
