A lot of people on CC say that reading helps a lot for CR. I'm planning on reading at least one article a day from a good newspaper or magazine. What are some good online newspapers or magazines that have similar passages like those on the SAT (in terms of style, diction, etc.)?

I also want to know the answer to this. If someone can suggest some magazines available in barnes and nobles or simply newspaper stands, I would be willing to purchase a few to help with my CR.

NYT(10characters)

You can get 1 year of US News for free when you download zinio reader(a magazine reader). Its pretty good. This week's issue has all the stats of the top colleges. http://www.download.com/Zinio-Reader-with-US-News-World-Report-/3000-2139_4-10385055.html?tag=lst-0-2

i bought a copy of economist. it's "good english" i supposed, but the topics are too hard to understand. it's all politics and economy.

I don't think reading more will improve your score. Trust me.

It's more about quality of reading versus quantity of reading. It's much better if you take time to read one book carefully and critically, instead of just casually reading 10 books passively.

BUY the NYT. don't read it online. I like to read a few passages from each section. I read them critically, circling all the words I don't know and summarizing each paragraph before moving to the next one. Annotate the passage... read actively!! That is why i don't like to read articles online.. you don't have that pencil in your hand with you as you read to mark up important parts of the passage.

most importantly, practice SAT questions.
