I always run out of time when I just complete half of questions on the CR and Writing section of SAT. I cannot even focus to read when I'm in limited time. My weakness in the SAT test is passage based reading. I have no interesting in reading those long passages and I always feel tired, sleepy when I read about history or biography. I tried to mark the passage as I read, but I have no idea where is the important phase or word to mark. I really need help for the passage based reading section.

Read a lot of books.

Read new york times or wall street journal online. U can even get wall street journal delivered to ur house free for half the year

^And The Economist.

What’s helped me the most, though, is not actually reading the passage in its entirety before answering the questions. In fact, I read it as I answer the questions. What I mean is I skip the general questions, go to the first specific question, read up to that point and a bit past, find the answer, and so on until I’ve finished and then I find I can answer the general questions relatively well. This allows me to finish the section with plenty of time left.

In contrast, I recently did a full length practice AP Lang test (it was a real one from a previous year, took it at school) and for whatever reason I decided to read through the passages before even looking at the questions. As a result I still had almost all of the questions for the last passage remaining. I did find it easier to comprehend, mostly because I read it more times (reading separately, then for the questions), but it seems much more effective and efficient to read while answering, rather than read then answer.

Why read new york times or wall street journal? I have no interest in reading those things
