I usually feel semi-excited for school by now but my junior year was agony. It turned all right in terms of grades and even awards but one project I'd put a lot of work in basically was ignored in favour of less than solid work by others. There were some family probs as well but yeah.

And this past year had a lot of last minuting - I studied for APs late, my huge final exams late, prepared projects/packed/did everything late and I just feel super tired. I used to read books of all sorts whenever I was free and now I don't even want to do that. I've been sick for a bunch of weeks this summer and thus have a ton of work to do, but I'm completely disinterested/detached.

And, I've made peace with the college odds too, so I don't think its just that.

Any tips, thoughts or ideas? I'm not used to feeling this way...

Try to pick up some sort of hobby that you’re interested so you’re not just thinking about school all the time. That way you’ll be more interested when you have to focus on school.

Try reading. I was very apathetic towards school as well until I started reading some social issues books (my hidden passion is sociology). I wanted to know more about the topic of the book and other topics. It sort of ignited my curiosity and thirst for knowledge again. Now I sort of can’t wait for my AP Psych and AP Bio classes.

That’s a good idea! I need to find a book on something I like. I recently got Crime and Punishment and Emma (Jane Austen) cuz they were really cheap but I don’t they work well for light reading.

Time to get a new library card, I guess (old one expired).

I felt the exact same way. I hated most of my classes except for Calculus and I got tired of doing so many projects for my AP classes. Most of the assignments we did in AP Biology was busy-work which aggrevated me even more when I got a 3 on the exam.

I think that if I start taking guitar lessons again, I’ll have something to get me back on track. Let me know how your Senior year goes–I’ll be in the same boat.
