How to score a 12 on the SAT essay?

I recently took the December SAT and ended up with a 750 on the writing portion. I only missed one question on the multiple choice but ended up with an 8 on the essay. I’m sure that had I gotten a 11 or 12 on the essay I would have ended up with a 800. I cannot find any good articles or information decribing how I can get such a score, and am confused by the layout of the essay and the extent to which I should analyze my examples.

Anyways, does anyone have any good tips or links to articles that helped them to get a high essay score?

Quite honestly, the template given looks too simple and unoriginal to be successful. It would be nice if it worked, but I have doubts. Have you used it?

There are a lot of great templates out there, but none of them will guarantee a 12. The best that can be guaranteed is a 10. Grammar is the key to an 800 in W.
