I have a question. This year at my high school, I participate in a selective contemporary a cappella group, and I am loving the experience. The college that I am attending next year, does not have an a cappella group. What kind of things are involved in getting a group started? (Both big things and minute details) I just want to plan this out so that come this August, the idea I have now will be a full-fledged group.

Really depends on the college, I recommend calling the dean of students at the college you will be attending next year and asking what it takes to start a student organization.

All it takes is a group of people interested in a cappella. Seriously.
Most college a cappella groups get started as a group of students meeting and singing. Don't worry about making it an official student group at first - unless thats how you plan to recruit members I guess.

If you do start an a cappella group at a school without any, you can apply next year (by mid-January) for a scholarship from Varisity Vocals. Check out their website for more info.
