I mean like a capella type of singing. I've never learned how to sing formally so I was hoping at in college I'd be able to start learning... Anyone know how one would do that?
My only experience with reading sheet music is for musical instruments lol.

I think colleges have groups for that? I know a senior friend of mine was thinking about joining one at Cal.

Anyways, it’s cool that you’ve taken an interest in “formal” singing. Although I don’t sing, my school has a singing group that tours internationally and they sound amazing. Despite popular opinion, it’s a lot of work to be able to sing like that.

It definitely seems like a lot of work, but it sounds so good like you said haha.

There are definitely acapella groups in college, but you have to already know how to sing formally and audition for them.

Anyone know about learning to sing for the first time in college?

I’ve known plenty. There are often non-competitive groups that hold open auditions and let anyone with interest join. Many of my friends have picked up instruments/artistic interests in college and have been able to join groups and do very well for themselves.
