Hello,
I apologize if this is the incorrect forum. I'm thinking of starting a model UN club this upcoming year, I'll be a junior. Is it too late? I started one last year (charity club) but my school is very strict on fundraising, so we haven't been able to raise much money. Should I forget about this club and just start the model UN? Or should I continue with the Charity club to show commitment? I'm also considering an amnesty international club instead of MUN, so if any of you guys out there have experience, any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The first thing you need to do is find a teacher that is willing to support a Model UN club. If you can do that, then you can start recruiting members. For most model UN clubs, the objective is to prepare for conferences. Find a local conference and register, then research your topic and help your peers.

Model UN is really, really fun - I find it enjoyable. It shouldn’t be too hard to start just find an adviser, register for a conference and get some people. The hardest part will be fundraising because conferences you drop abut 400-500 dollars per conference.

But if interest is generated, that should be easy. You should continue with both Charity Club and possibly MUN, because Model UN is fun + looks good on a resume if you do manage to win awards.

Yeah. I also want to start a MUN Club but I don’t have the funds. I have the people and the adviser but no local conference or any money to sign up.
