How to stop being a slow test taker?

In Calculus I am always so slow, I have to end up guessing on questions that I know how to do. Today I took a 46 question test and had to guess on about 7 questions and didn't have time to check my work. I tried to work fast this time too but I guess it didn't work :l what am I doing wrong?

You are either a) not studying hard enough or b) have a learning disorder

Well I think I studied a lot, I mean I knew how to do almost every problem. Also I don’t have a problem with timing in any other of my classes, not even in the past. Its just Calculus.

I don’t think there’s a way to take tests faster. If you have to take you’re time you have to take you’re time, especially in math. Your teacher won’t let you finish the test after class?

That’s rude quidditchcat…SHAME ON YOU!!

We’re doing AP style tests so we have time limits. But she did give us about 2 hours to do it so I think I’m just slow when it comes to doing calculus… I never had this problem in any other math class or physics :l

Time yourself while doing practice problems and set up goals/challenges to cut down your time bit by bit. My chem teacher does this with us sometimes and it really helps.

I would recommend doing more practice problems. Also, don’t think about the time- sometimes when I’m worried about the amount of time I have left I get stressed and cannot think clearly. Perhaps you should also discuss this problem with your teacher? I’m not sure if this will help seeing that I have not taken Calculus yet, but I hope you find a solution! Just remember, trying is half the battle. :)
