How to Stop Stressing About Applications??

Hi everyone! I recently finished applying to all my colleges, and now I have to wait until March to hear back. I applied to many reaches, matches, and safeties, and I can’t get admissions out of my mind! In my free time, my mind always wanders back to it somehow and I start thinking: what if I get in here and not here? What about in here and not here? Which one would I pick out of these? Should I not have applied here? I know it’s really useless and a waste of energy to stress out about something I already did everything I could for- that’s why I’m on here to ask for advice.
How do I pull myself off of CC forums, clear my mind, and relax and enjoy my senior year? Any tips would be appreciated, thanks in advance!!

Join a club. Learn a sport. Take up a hobby. Get a part time job. Volunteer.

Seriously, there’s not much to do except wait. And stressing out about “what ifs” is not healthy or productive. Go enjoy your last semester of high school!

It takes practice to stop worrying about things you can’t control. If you have recently spent a great deal of time and effort completing applications, it takes time and effort to feel like you don’t have something meaningful to do. Time, and not eons of it, will help as other things in your life take priority. What to do? Switch your attention to other things in life your like studying and completing homework, enjoying local sites and events, reengaging with sports or other things you enjoy, become a proficient reader as you will need that in college, learn how to cook or grocery shop, wildly learn to do laundry, or play video games at times. I found that keeping busy with both fun and required activities fills void that stressing currently fills. When the information about college comes, then you can make decisions. Now do and think about other things.

Spend time with family members who will miss you when you leave! Write thank you letters to everyone who helped you along the way. Help around the house with a big chore. Devote a little extra time to your physical health by hiking, running, or whatever you like. Think about senior prom or senior ditch day, or plan your graduation party. In short, have a little fun. This process is too intense, and you’re in for a big life change no matter where you go!
