How to study for Science Olympiad?

I'm a sophomore and joined SciOly a few months ago, but we haven't really done anything yet (other than preparing some for the Science Bowl in a couple weeks). The teacher checked me off for Anatomy and Physiology, and Circuit Lab. I still have to do a bit of research on the latter, but since I've taken an Intro Physics class before and not a bio/anatomy class, I'm really focused on studying A&P before April. I saw online that the systems this year are nervous, integumentary, and immune, and I know very little about any of those (mostly from 8th grade). How should I study for this? And should I study the other systems as well (or get more background knowledge), or will it be solely on the three above?

I've never done the Science Olympiad before and there seems to be so much to study for already (although I'll have a partner or two), so I need advice from someone who has experience. Thanks!

BQ: What the odds of winning any medals on your first Olympiad? I'd like to get one, it doesn't have to be a gold either.

For A&P find a popular college textbook (somehow) and read it.
(The person from my school got a gold at states over the team that got gold at nationals, using a textbook that so happens to be the same textbook used in his college class right now–as a graduating college senior :P)
And the textbook I used for circuits so happens to be my college textbook in some circuits courses.
Often these make great resources but some events you might not find the textbook for…

For circuitry, there are plenty of resources, but the best idea is to get a good set of practice problems as well as a tad experience doing lab work.

As for a medal, depends on how difficult your region is / good your partner / school is! In an easy state there is a high chance of getting a medal, in a hard state, well at least I say you have hope at circuits because it is not as intensive of a study as A&P.

I don’t think my school is very competitive in SciOly, but I know a girl who wants to do A&P and won our local Brain Bee for Neuroscience (and now she’s going to nationals), so maybe I have a chance if she’s my partner :)
