Despite applying to my dream school, Wheelock College, and getting in with a $17,000 scholarship I attended my local community college due to my parents dispute over who will pay for college (they have been separated for nine years). Although they have still not come to an agreement on who should pay, I am considering to reapplying to Wheelock this fall. I have recently gone to a transfer open house there, and talked with the transfer counselor and seems enthused about me applying. She completed a rough credit evaluation and told me that the school would take all of my credits I have taken thus far and make me a sophomore in college, when I am only in my second semester in college (I did take a few college credits while in high school). Another issue concerning me is how I will be able to afford going to a private school in the middle of Boston, where the tuition is around $42,000 a year including room and board. This was one of the issues I was faced with applying last fall. The transfer advisor has told me with my GPA of 3.5 the school will give me $12,500 in merit scholarship. What are some good ways to fill in this gap, $30,000 in loans a year for a prospective teacher is not realistic in this market.

Yur parents are likely the only option other than aid from the school.
