How to transfer to top universities in US?

I am a senior high school student, and I am a Chinese.

I will go to US to attend university the next year and probably settle down there.

My English is not very good, so I'm bad at the reading and writing sections of SAT I and another language test-TOEFL which are the most important factors for international students like me to be admitted to university in US. According to the scores I have got in these tests, I can only attend universities ranking from 60 to 30 in US.

But I am very good at Science and Math(far better than my English, even in China I rank fairly high in those subjects), which are the subjects I would major in, and I am very ambitious to attend top universities in US. Additionally, in US, it is far easier for me to improve my English.

So, I want to transfer to a better university before I graduate from the first university that I will attend in US.

So, could anyone please tell me that:
How difficult is it for students like me to transfer to a better university?
How to transfer to a better university?
What are the most important requirements? Like GPA ?

Your situation is like that of many Intl. students who want to study at the most selective US colleges, either for the FA or prestige, or both. I suggest you go to the Intl. Students forum and read past threads.

Also, google a college name and ‘common data set’, you will be able to calculate the acceptance rates for fr and transfer admits.

Finally, for how the transfer process works, see the Transfer 101 sticky thread at the top of this forum.
