How to Translate Classes into AP Hours?

UT Arlington only offers what classes the AP score counts as, not how many hours it is. The application is asking for hours though. How do I deal with this?

For instance, I made a 4 on biology, the website says "4,5 BIOL 1333, 1334, 1282 or BIOL 1441"

I have no idea how many hours any of those count for. (It only counts for one of those right?)

I need help!

In the Texas Common Core Numbering System, there are four numbers. Let’s take BIOL 1333:
1- Freshman Lvl Course (where 2=sophomore, 3=junior, 4=senior, 5=graduate lvl)
3- Number of credit hours the course is worth (so BIOL 1282 is two cr. hrs, BIOL 1441 is 4 cr. hrs, etc.)
33- The Course Number itself

And yes, should you attend UTA, the course would count for whichever one of those you need for your major.

I would say, for credit hours, AP Bio is worth… 4 hrs, because there’s a lab component? I’m honestly not quite sure.

You’re going to need to look at the online undergrad catalog for more info about credit hours for each of those.

I suspect (but aren’t sure) that the four classes listed are for:

Bio 1
Bio 1 Lab
Bio II
Bio II Lab

and with an AP score of 4 or 5 you get all the credits.

So go to the univ website, put “undergraduate catalog” into the search box. Then look at the bio classes.

Another way: Go to College Board and look up AP credits. There is a box where you put the college name in and it tells you what AP Credits you’re given.

<a href=“College Search - BigFuture | College Board”>College Search - BigFuture | College Board;

Oh wow, that’s really neat. Thank you for your help!

*Biology 4,5 BIOL 1333, 1334, 1282 or BIOL 1441

Because Collegeboard is unclear, I looked on the UT Arl undergrad catalog
[2012 - 2013 Undergraduate Catalog](http://wweb.uta.edu/catalog/)

I see now that it says “or” Bio 1441 (which is Cell Bio). I’m surprised that Cell Bio is an optional credit. That’s often an upper division course. Maybe I’m confused about this credit??

It looks like the first 3 are Bio 1 and Bio II…and one is the lab. What is confusing is that it looks like these are the classes for “non majors”.

where is the Bio I and II for STEM majors??

Just to be clear, I only put the credits I’ve earned so far, and assume I won’t pass the upcoming AP tests for my senior year? (for application purposes)
