Hi there! i recently won an award and i want to let the colleges i applied to know. should i write a letter? do you think most colleges have read a majority of applications by know? any insight is appreciated

bump.... bump

It really matters what colleges you applied to. Please list the colleges.

cont'd

For example - most LACs are done with the app review process and so even if what you send somehow magically gets into your file, it's highly unlikely anyone will read it. But, a place like Wesleyan in CT is probably still working on the files, so that may be a school worth sending the letter to. The ivies however, are so bogged down with applications that whatever you send will probably never end up in your file, or do any good b/c the adcoms have already gone over your file. So even if it got in your file, no one would ever review it.

If you want to send the letter, go for it. But just keep in mind that it's highly unlikely at this stage in the game (for the schools with a ~Jan 1 deadline) that it will do you any good.
