How to use NACAC Fee Waiver

Hello everyone,

I'm a little confused on how to use/send NACAC Fee Waivers. Do I send them to the school beforehand, or after I submit the Common App?

Thanks!

The NACAC Fee Waiver link at the Common App directs you to the website for the National Association for College Admission Counseling. You can find the actual fee waiver here:

[FAQs for Application Fee Waiver Form](http://www.nacacnet.org/CareerDevelopment/Resources/Pages/FeeWaiverFAQ.aspx)

Your counselor will need to verify that your family’s financial circumstances warrant the waiver, so check with him or her. If you are eligible, your counselor should be able to submit it it by mail on your behalf since the waiver cannot be completed online.

Do I (or my counselor) mail it in before, or after, I submit the Common App? And what happens if they reject the waiver request?

Best to contact the college and ask what they would suggest.

What usually happens?

Bumpity BUMP. I need to know this, too… :)

i need to know this as well

um…somebody wanna say?

Looks like I’ll be answering my own question. :D

I just had my counselor sign my fee waiver form, then I mailed it directly to Stanford (the one on the mailing labels – Montag Hall I think), along with a couple other forms. That was a couple of days before I submitted my Common App (I applied Restrictive Early Action).

My counselor has mailed my Harvard fee waiver form together with the School Report Part II; I haven’t submitted my Common App yet (although I should be doing so today or tomorrow).

I intend on mailing Princeton and Yale forms before I submit my Common App as well.

I hope this helps. :)

Some schools ask that you mail it after you submit the common app. Such schools provide a voucher upon submission of your common app that you are asked to print and mail with the NACAC form.

I had my counselor sign it, and then I handed it in with my transcript request forms. According to our head counselor, the school then forwards the forms to the specified college. =)
