I am currently a US university student at one of the UCs applying to Oxford. Since I meet the requirements and did not take any APs in highschool, I need to appeal my gpa. Is there a way to mention the gpa in the qualification section of UCAS, or do i need to just appeal in the essay section?
Use the ‘other’ section, and get your prof who’s writing the teacher recommendation to give it too, including predicted grades for the semester you’re applying.
thanks!
so you don’t recommend that I mention it in my personal statement either?
Your PS is where you show why you are a good fit for that program. It is read by subject tutors (profs), not AOs- & they are interested in how you relate to their field, not your US GPA.
in the qualification “other” section, am I expected to write which specific courses I am taking in college?
also I see that in the qualification section it says: Please state the highest level of qualification you expect to have before you start your course*
for this, do I select "honour degree level or above qualifications if I got all the results that I stated (except the university degree because I will be in my second year)?
Erm, no. An honours degree would be a bachelor’s degree, which you won’t have yet.
