How does ucsd decide which student gets their first choice for college while others get their second or third choice? Are students with higher points (in the admission point system) more likely to get first choice or the students who submit their applications first or...?

As far as I know, the students that have the highest points, esp. Regents scholars will most likely get into their first choice.
I don’t think this is confirmed but I’ve definitely read it before on CC.

well it starts with priority students, aka transfers (yay me). then it goes down to highest points of admitted, then on down the line till they have to start switching people to their #2 and so forth
