I want to do something related to children's right and work in the middle east. Is it a good degree to have? If not what should I major in?

If you want to work in the Middle East, you need to understand the languages, cultures and societies in that region. Major in Middle Eastern Studies. For human rights, specially in regard to children, do a second major in international relations/political science, anthropology/sociology, or perhaps, human development/psychology. You can take some elective courses in the area of human rights, but I don’t really think it should constitute a major in itself. Consider a master’s degree in international social work or related area.

A degree in Human Rights is probably best if you’re going on to law school or grad school for something like public policy or diplomacy.

Definitely learn Arabic, it will give you an extremely important skill in getting these jobs.
