What i want to do is work in the Middle East with an NGO doing something related to children's rights (child labor, homeless children, child traffiking) or maybe even a peacekeeper with the UN.

I've decided on doing a double major in Middle Eastern Studies (and will learn Arabic and Persian) and then get a Master's in Social Work.

What would be a good second major to complement this?

And please don't tell me that there isn't a market for children's right's activists. I can't picture myself being a doctor, translator, etc

2nd major in Political Science ! ^^ It would be a powerful backup to your Middle Eastern Studies major
In the political science major, you could specialize in International Relations/Global Politics and also try taking courses that focus on that geographic area as well. For example, Middle Eastern Politics, classes that deal with current events in that area, etc (almost all good/large universities have these types of classes that focus on a region, look into it) Anything dealing with international policies, laws, peace. It will get you versed in economics too, another plus that may help towards your career ambition
Either way, it will open a lot more possibilities than simply the Middle Eastern Studies major, and you can still go onto a Master’s in Social Work with these degrees

yeah, Poli Sci or International Relations/Studies.

Do politics or IR, or maybe anthropology or sociology.
